What is the Bali Volunteer House?
The Bali Volunteer House is a program designed to assist underprivileged children in Bali by means of providing extra staff to assist in the day to day runnings of the orphanage. It is a program to enable ordinary people like you and I to volunteer their time , teach their skills and help make a difference. The Bali Volunteer House was founded by Sydney’s Northern Beaches community and Surf Culture. Thanks to the generosity of the community, along with supporting Surf and Fashion Industry and local small businesses, it has all been made possible.
What is “Care for Kids”?
“Care for Kids" is a unique home for over 50 poverty stricken Indonesian children. Founded by Alison Chester and her husband Riyanto Samadi in 2004. These children have been rescued from abuse, extreme poverty and medical emergencies and are cared for with only the bare minimal essentials; basic accommodation and three meals a day. However due to a crippling lack of funds, staffing, support and infrastructure is severely limited. Thats where the Bali Volunteer House comes in......
What we aim to do
The concept of The Bali Volunteer House is simple. We aim to provide ongoing support to CARE FOR KIDS on a volunteer-basis from the Bali Volunteer house. Manpower is essential to create structure, supervision, educational programs and simple things such as basic health, hygene, care and comfort. Our other important aim is to initiate a work-experience program that can successfully transition these children from an institutionalised life to an independent life full of hopes and dreams that every child deserves.
